Questions for Reflection:
How can movement during the learning process help our students?
How do you work with small groups of students while keeping the rest of the class engaged in their own learning?
What can stations look like in the classroom?
One of the benefits of using stations is how it incorporates movement and variety into the learning process.
Hilda Smolash, Literacy teacher at the High School of Montreal, English Montreal School Board, also notes that students appreciate learning within a stations approach – it is an approach that respects student autonomy.
In this video, you can see how Hilda is free to work with small groups of students while the rest of the students in the room continue learning.
